Location: 2km from the centre of town - when coming from north: turn left off the main highway (prior to Carmody Bridge) and follow along the Dee River.

The Number 7 Dam (otherwise known as The Big Dam) provides a perfect spot for many recreational activities. With its picturesque natural views, the Dam offers a tranquil place for a get together, with barbeque and picnic areas available. The area is also home to the town's newest district shaded covered playground - including 11 different types of playground equipment, outdoor gym equipment, picnic tables, double plate barbecue and new parking area.

For the water lovers, the Number 7 Dam provides the perfect location for a range of aquatic activities. Enjoy a swim, boating or sailing activities. Number 7 Dam is also a terrific spot to throw out a line, with some of the Dam’s inhabitants including the Dawson River Barramundi(Saratoga), Sleepy Cod, Yellow Belly, and Red Claw (otherwise known as Fresh Water Lobster).
