Swimming Pool

Location: Boyd Park complex, 34 Thomson Avenue, Mount Morgan.

The complex consists of a 30m pool with shading at the shallow end, covered wading pool and large
seating grandstand.

Opening Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 5:30pm.
  • Satuday and Sunday: 12noon - 4pm.

Cost of Entry: Adults- $3.70, Children- $2.70, Concession- $2.10, Spectators- $2.10

No 7 Dam

Location: 2km from the centre of town- when coming from north: turn left off the main highway (prior to Carmody Bridge) and follow along the Dee River.

The Number 7 Dam (otherwise known as The Big Dam) provides a perfect spot for many recreational activities. With its picturesque natural views, the Dam offers a tranquil place for a get together, with barbeque and picnic areas available. The area is also home to the town's newest district playground - including 11 different types of playground equipment, outdoor gym equipment, picnic tables, double plate bbq and new parking area.

For the water lovers, the Number 7 Dam provides the perfect location for a range of aquatic activities. Enjoy a swim, boating or sailing activities. Number 7 Dam is also a terrific spot to throw out a line, with some of the Dam’s inhabitants including the Dawson River Barramundi (Saratoga), Sleepy Cod, YellowBelly, and Red Claw (otherwise known as Fresh Water Lobster).

 

 

Skate Park

Location: Boyd Park, Thomson Avenue.

The Boyd Park Complex provides a perfect place to take the kids out for the afternoon. Situated in close proximity the complex includes a skate park, children’s playground and basketball half court.
The area is situated close to the public swimming pool.

 

 

 

 

The Mount Morgan Golf Club

Location: Corner of Burnett Highway Golflinks Road

Tee off in Mount Morgan at the Mount Morgan Golf Club. Open Sunday morning from 7am for social golf – all golfers welcome. $10 fee, tea and toast included!

Also play Thursday mornings- Chook Run- 7:30am $5 fee.

The Dee Bowls Club

Location:Burnett Highway, Southern end of town

Bowling Days:

  • Tuesdays- Ladies. 1pm Start.
  • Thursdays “F” Troop. 1.15pm start.
  • Sundays- Social Bowls. 1:15pm start
  • Social Club and Members Draw also held each Friday. Drawn at 5:00pm.

The Welfare Bowls Club

Location:28 Thomson Avenue, Mount Morgan.

Bowls times for Summer:

  • Tuesdays- 1:30pm start.
  • Friday nights- 6:30pm start. Includes free members draw.
  • Sunday mornings- 9:30am start.
  • Green is also available Saturdays for practice if required- from 10:00am.

Please note: names are required 30 minutes prior to start times for team selections. Green fees
are $6 for adults and $3 for students. New players are encouraged to come down for a roll.

Indoor Bowls

Location: Mount Morgan Uniting Church Hall, East Street, Mount Morgan.

    GeoCaching

    This GPS based sport has grown rapidly over the last ten years around the world. Anyone with a GPS unit (including smartphones) can participate. Mt Morgan is home to more than ten hidden geocaches with over another 100 in the region surrounding.
