Piruwanni Aboriginal Art and Design

My name is Faylyn Lamb, and I am a very proud Warabal/Kanolu woman. I have been creating Aboriginal art for the past 40 years, with my artworks going into homes all over the world since 1989, when I held an exhibition in Yeppoon.

The inspirations for my artworks come to me from my Ancestors in the form of a dream or vision. My totem is the Emu, who also guides me through life’s challenges.

I have taught the artwork of my heritage throughout Central Queensland during the 1980’s and 1990’s in schools, and workshops for adults in 2002 and 2003 in Mount Morgan. This year I will commence the workshops again for anyone who is interested, in my shop at 61 Morgan Street, Mount Morgan.

From my little Market stall, I have grown my craft into a small business, and take orders for my products from all over Australia. I now create designs for tie-dyed t-shirts, bags, backpacks, caps, hats, mugs, water bottles, earrings and much more. Hand painted items such as lamps, vases, plant pots, and handcrafted items such as wind chimes and clocks.

It is an honour to share some of my culture with so many people from all over the world.
